PubPath Implementation Changes Electronic Product Development Equation

Publishers with big budget, feature-rich custom sites that have long development cycles and “break even” revenue expectations have already defined the electronic product marketplace. A well-respected mid-size publisher must introduce a new state-of-the-art electronic reference suite.

CQ Press required that its Electronic Library must be developed within a realistic budget directly based upon the suite’s revenue potential and bottom-line profit. In contrast to some of its competing platforms, PubPath positively impacted both initial development and ongoing maintenance budgets.

With GVPi's help, realistic initial outlays with PubPath allowed CQ Press to avoid the costly up front expense of multi-seat licenses common to other solutions.

PubPath innovations in development were responsible for an affordable implementation of CQ Press' content store. As a result of being on budget and on-time, implementation was approximately 40% less than their other competitors.

Performance

Unlike market defining predecessors, Electronic Library customers have a demand, not just a desire, for fully functional, regularly updated, constantly available products.

Features of PubPath

  • Advanced search and browse capabilities
  • End-user personalization
  • Gives CQ Press room to grow
  • Consistently reliable with rapid response from GVPi should problems arise
  • Easy and efficient to update content
